“One of my latest trips was to Cambodia; Angkor Wat had been on my bucket list forever, so I was super excited to travel there. Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia, it extends over approximately 400 square kilometres and consists of many temples, hydraulic structures as well as communication routes. Angkor is a major site exemplifying cultural, religious and symbolic values, as well as containing high architectural, archaeological and artistic significance. This symbolic site and its surroundings are protected by the UNESCO.
The park is inhabited, and many villages, some of whom the ancestors are dating back to the Angkor period are scattered throughout the park. The population practices agriculture and rice cultivation.”

It was absolutely breathtaking and I was pleasantly surprised when we got to the nearby town of Siem Reap; the atmosphere was amazing and the houses, in old-French architectural style, looked almost as welcoming as the people living there.”

"The town of Siem Reap is divided by a river, conveniently named the Siem Reap River. Along the waterside is an old market (and several night markets), where locals sell food, herbs, souvenirs and clothing. Even though the town is small, there are lots of tourists and the nightlife is vibrant. One of my favorite places was the pubstreet, where you can enjoy a drink or some amazing local, or international food.”

“We stayed in the Frangipani Villa Hotel, just outside the buzzing center. (You can get there by walking only ten minutes). It is a small, clean hotel, with kind staff and good food, its style reflects the best contemporary Cambodian design which I loved Plus, it has a swimming pool so you can enjoy a swim during the hot days! You can also use one of the hotel’s guest bikes for an early morning ride around the town and then return for a delicious breakfast.”

"My favorite Cristina Ramella jewelry piece is the gold map ring I bought last year. I love how prominent it is and how it goes with everything! The world map shows my love for traveling yet reminds me of all the places I still want to see.”

"To me, traveling means more than just seeing another country. It means going off the beaten tracks and finding undiscovered beauty in the places that are less ‘touristy’, merging in the local culture and not just seeing the people but understanding them and respecting them. I always try to pick up some words like ‘thank you’ or ‘hello’ and a few manners from the locals.”

“By being a flight attendant, I get to see quite some beautiful places; this month it is Gambia and Bonaire Next month it’s Poland, Cape Verde and Jamaica. My next vacation is New Zealand in Fall. Luckily my boyfriend is very passionate about traveling too, so we are working out the final details and then we’ll book the tickets, it is probably going to be the most exciting trip ever!”
